Titanic Thompson

Today I just want to introduce you to a new friend of mine.

“As long as there’s been golf, there’s been gambling. And where there is gambling, there will be hustling.”

That’s the word from Freddy Kaboot.

Back in the 1930’s and 40’s golf hustlers like Titanic Thompson and guys with names like “Shaggy Ralph”, “Stork”, “the Dog Man” and “3-Iron Blade” were as famous as “The Babe” and Joe Louis.

Titanic Thompson once bet a bunch of millionaires during a dinner that he could drive a ball 500 yards.  He later took his doubters to a frozen lake, hit the ball well over 500 yards on the ice and made more on that one bet than most men would make in a lifetime during those years .

He could beat a man right-handed and then go double or nothing the next day left-handed and win again (he was left-handed)!

Freddy loves to tell these great stories and has amazing tales to share with you about golf hustlers who couldn’t afford the pay cut of going pro so they stayed below the radar screen and made millions.  This was truly the golden age of golf.

But golf hustling isn’t about just making outlandish bets, nor is it about cheating as some on the internet might have you believe.  It’s about playing well and knowing when to press an edge and how to do it right.

Big Freddy can teach you how to do all those things well and I’ll be sending you some FREE tips and lessons from him to you in the near future.  He’s agreed to share his unique material with you guys, guys who’ve trusted me in the past.

He’ll absolutely entertain you with stories about guys like Thompson, Snead, Hogan, Trevino, Bobby Riggs and tons of guys (and ladies!) that you’ve never heard off.

More importantly he’ll lower your golf scores and even show you how to make serious cash golfing by teaching you how to pick the best spots to gamble and what drills to practice before hand.

Take care and look out real soon for his lessons and tips.

The Short Game

When analyzing you golf play, think about how many time you missed the short vs. the long shot.

If the short game is suffering you may want to try this strategy I found at http://www.mlive.com/golf/index.ssf/2008/06/golf_tip_keep_the_ego_out_of_y.html

“Use a new strategy. Let's say that you hit your 7-iron 165 yards on your career best shot, and you hit your 7-iron in the 145-155 yard range eight out of 10 times and hit it 135 yards two out of 10 times. You are confronted with a 147-yard shot to the middle of the green. The green is 30 yards deep (average green size). That leaves you 132 yards to the front and 162 yards to the back. What will happen if you use your 7-iron for this shot?

1. Eight out of 10 times, you will hit the green and be within two-putt range.

2. Two out of 10 times, you're short and on the front of the green, possibly in three-putt range but better than being in the bunker (where you usually are).

3. And, on the rare time you hit that career 7-iron and go over the green, you'll take some confidence to your chip shot and knock it in for birdie.”

The Golf Genie

A Husband takes his wife to play her first game of golf. Of
course, the wife promptly hacked her first shot right through the window
of the biggest house adjacent to the course.
The husband cringed, 'I warned you to be careful! Now we'll
have to go up there, find the owner, apologize and see how much your
lousy drive is going to cost us.'

So the couple walked up to the house and knocked on the door. A warm
voice said, 'Come on in.'
When they opened the door they saw the damage that was done: glass
was all over the place, and a broken antique bottle was lying on its
side near the pieces of window glass.
A man reclining on the couch asked, 'Are you the people that broke
my window?'
'Uh…yeah! , sir. We're sure sorry about that,' the husband
replied.
'Oh, no apology is necessary. Actually I want to thank you.
You see, I'm a genie, and I've been trapped in that bottle for a
thousand years. Now that you've released me, I'm allowed to grant
three wishes. I'll give you each one wish, but if you don't mind,
I'll keep the last one for my self.'
Wow, that's great!' the husband said. He pondered a moment and
blurted out, 'I'd like a million dollars a year for the rest of my
life.'
'No problem,' said the genie 'You've got it, it's the least I can
do. And I'll guarantee you a long, healthy life!'
'And now you, young lady, what do you want?' the genie asked.
'I'd like to own a gorgeous home complete with servants in every
country in the world,' she said.
'Consider it done,' the genie said. 'And your homes will always be
safe from fire, burglary and natural disasters!'
'And ! now,' the couple asked in unison, 'what's your wish, genie?'

'Well, since I've been trapped in that bottle, and haven't been
with a woman in more than a thousand years, my wish is to have sex with
your wife'
The husband looked at his wife and said, 'Gee, honey, you know we
both now have a fortune, and all those houses. What do you think?'
She mulled it over for a few moments and said, 'You know, you're
right.
Considering our good fortune, I guess I wouldn't mind, but what
about you, honey?'
You know I love you sweetheart,' said the husband. I'd do the same
for you!'

So the genie and the woman went upstairs where they spent the rest
of the afternoon enjoying each other. The genie was insatiable.
After about three hours of non-stop sex, the genie rolled over and
looked directly into her eyes and asked, 'How old are you and your
husband?'
'Why, we're both 35,' she responded breathlessly.
'No Kidding,' he said. 'Thirty-five years old and both of you
still believe in genies?'

Super Bowl Tickets

A man had 50 yard line tickets for the Super Bowl. As he sits down, a
man comes down and asks if anyone is sitting in the seat next to him.

"No," he says, "The seat is empty."

"This is incredible," said the man. "Who in their right mind would have a
seat like this for the Super Bowl, the biggest sporting event in the
world, and not use it?"

He says, "Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. I was supposed to come
with my wife, but she passed away. This is the first Super Bowl we haven't
been together since we got married in 1970."

"Oh  … I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible. But couldn't you find
someone else, a friend or relative, or even a neighbor to take the seat?"

The man shakes his head, "No, they're all at the funeral.”

Various Uncategorized Tips

‹(•¿•)› Always put some kind of identifying mark on your golf ball. Have a Sharpie pen handy. It can be lines, dots, smiley face … anything to differentiate your ball from someone else’s.

‹(•¿•)›  Every now and then you have to move your mark, often once a round. Use the same method to mark you ball. If you use a dime, be consistent. If it's head's up every time you mark the ball and you're asked to move the mark, place it heads down. That way there is no mistake and you'll know to move it to the original position and not be assessed a penalty stroke.

‹(•¿•)›  Wet a corner of your golf towel so it's handy to clean balls or clubs if needed.

‹(•¿•)›  To save from breaking too many golf tees, move the tee around once it's in the hole to loosen the soil a bit. That reduces the odds of breaking the tee somewhat.

Business at the Golf Course

The unwritten rules of the game to get ahead in business is that people do business with people they like and trust.

A few ways to go about these negotiations are taught in a seminar called "Business Golf 101" by Hilary Bruggen:

"If someone's about to tee off, the chances of a brilliant shot are very low," Bruggen says. So keep your eye on that person's ball, so you know exactly where it lands. When you find the ball for them, "people are relieved, and they see you as someone who's on top of things, who pays attention to detail."

"If you happen to hit a longer, straighter ball than the person you're playing with (especially if that person is your boss), say something nice about an earlier shot of his or hers, if you can. "Take the focus off your game and keep it on theirs," she says.

Never, ever give advice

unless directly and specifically asked for it.

Don't force a discussion of business topics on the golf course. "Save it for the '19th hole,' that is, the clubhouse bar," says Bruggen. Why? "Someone who is playing well, who is 'in the zone', doesn't want to be distracted by business talk," she explains. "And someone who is playing badly needs to concentrate. He or she doesn't want to be distracted either."

If you take a lousy shot, don't whine about it. Just move on.

At some companies, playing golf is a key to reaching the executive suite. Golf isn’t the only game that’s really being played so be prepared. You may want to know at least 2 good golf jokes, carry windproof lighter, cigar cutter, tees, divot repair tool, ball markers, perhaps some bandaids to win some friends by being properly equipped.

If the golf outing is about a deal, wait till about halfway through the first nine before broaching the subject about the reason they are out with you. Don't take the game seriously, unless they are and follow up the game with a meal or drinks to talk about the day. Naturally, stay in contact.

Success in business (and in life) is about building and growing great relationships. And golf is just one way to do that. People who don't play golf are "choosing to neglect the best business development there is" said Bruggen

Random Golf Survey On Business Deals

Of 401 executives surveyed for a Starwood Hotels study in 2002, 92 percent said golf is "a good way to make new business contacts," while 97 percent said that golfing with a business associate "is a good way to establish a close relationship." Forty-three percent of executives said some of their biggest business deals were made on golf courses.

Golf has long been a pursuit of the business elite and is use to recruit, to test the mettle of potential partners and to a broader extent cement business deals.

Adams Driver – Adams Redline RPM 430Q Driver

The RPM 460Q This club is for serious golfers who want distance, control and versatility by way of combining a carbon crown, movable weights toward the sole and using tungsten inserts. This enables golfers to tune into the exactness of their ball flight and launch angle.

By dialing in the optimal launch angle using the ideal spin rate versatility you get heightened accuracy and control. The RPM 460Q delivers a high COR. The changeable weighting and the carbon crown allows for players to fine tune their dirve for low shots in windy conditions or high shots in soft conditions or for lower mph players.

Adams' xFace engineering has an expanded sweet spot for maximum forgiveness. Redline RPM fairway woods also available. Adams Golf Clubs

Clubface: Titanium (cast)
Clubhead: Carbon composite, Titanium (cast)
Loft(s): 8, 9, 10, 11, 13 (9, 10 available LH)
Shaft(s): Fujikura 60g graphite (X, S, R, A, L)
Volume: 430cc
Year: 2005

What is COR?

Core Club technology exhibits these traits:

• The ball speed off the face is comparably much faster.
• The distance the ball travels is increased
• The spin rate is usually reduced (this can also contribute to increased distance, as long as the launch angle is optimized).

Coefficient of Restitution, or COR, is a scientific term for a measurement for how much energy a given head transfers to the ball at impact. Top physicists argue that the ball has left the club head long before the club face actually "bounces back."
